[Genesis 3:14-15]

The LORD God said to the serpent “Because you have done this,
Cursed are you more than all cattle, and more than every beast of      the field; On your belly you will go, And dust you will eat All the days of your life;

And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head,
And you shall bruise him on the heel.

To the woman he said, I will make your pains in childbearing very severe;with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.

To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it, “Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.”

[Gen 5:3-28]

When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth. After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then he died. When Seth had lived 105 years, he became the father of Enosh. After he became the father of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Seth lived a total of 912 years, and then he died. When Enosh had lived 90 years, he became the father of Kenan. After he became the father of Kenan, Enosh lived 815 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Enosh lived a total of 905 years, and then he died.  When Kenan had lived 70 years, he became the father of Mahalalel. After he became the father of Mahalalel, Kenan lived 840 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Kenan lived a total of 910 years, and then he died. When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he became the father of Jared. After he became the father of Jared, Mahalalel lived 830 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Mahalalel lived a total of 895 years, and then he died When Jared had lived 162 years, he became the father of Enoch. After he became the father of Enoch, Jared lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Jared lived a total of 962 years, and then he died. When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah. After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years. Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away. When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he became the father of Lamech. After he became the father of Lamech, Methuselah lived 782 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Methuselah lived a total of 969 years, and then he died. When Lamech had lived 182 years, he had a son. He named him Noah and said, “He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the Lord has cursed.” After Noah was born, Lamech lived 595 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Lamech lived a total of 777 years, and then he died

  Hebrew, every name has significance including the order

·      Adam – Man

·      Seth – Appointed

·      Enosh – Mortal, Frail, or Miserable, woe, sickness, grief, wickedness [Gen4:26 Days of Enosh is when men began to defile the name of the Living God.

·      Kenan – Sorrow

·      Mahalalel – Blessed, or praise – The El end is The Blessed God

·      Jared – Shall come down

·      Enoch – Commencement or teaching

·      Methuselah – Death, to bring or send forth – “His death shall bring

·      Lamech – Lament – Lamentation = Despairing

·      Noah – Comfort – Rest

U Man (is) appointed Mortal Sorrow;(but) The Blessed God (shall) come down teaching, His death shall bring, comfort and rest

He also spoke, it says, in many ways, polutropos. That means through:

·     Visions

·      Prophecy

·      Parable

·      Type – Pattern

·      Symbol

·      Ceremony

·      Theophany

·      Audible Voice

·      Wrote with His finger on Stone

³ There were many ways in which God spoke many things, collected in many texts, put into many books, and He spoke to those of old by means of the prophets.  That is a statement with reference to the fact that the Old Testament is God speaking.

The Old Testament is Not:

·     Not a collection of the wisdom of ancient men.

·     Not a collection of the best of religious thinking. 

·     Not a collection of the good musings of godly people. 

·     Not the thinking of any men; good men, godly men, or ancient men in and of themselves.

  It is the Word of God, the writer of Hebrews says, “God Spoke.” God spoke. The Old Testament was God Speaking to the Fathers by means of the Prophets.
